Care Instructions
- Gentle Cycle: Machine wash bamboo viscose kids wear in cold water on a gentle cycle. High temperatures can damage the delicate fibers of bamboo viscose, causing it to lose its softness and shape. For example, using warm or hot water might make the clothes shrink slightly or become less comfortable to wear.
- Mild Detergent: Opt for a mild, fragrance-free, and hypoallergenic detergent. Strong chemicals and fragrances in regular detergents can irritate a child’s sensitive skin and also affect the integrity of the fabric. Avoid using fabric softeners as they can coat the fibers, reducing the fabric’s breathability and softness.
- Separate Colours: Always wash light-coloured and dark-coloured bamboo viscose clothes separately. This helps prevent colour bleeding, especially during the first few washes. Turn the garments inside out before washing to protect the outer surface of the clothes from abrasion, which can cause pilling over time.
Drying Instructions
- Air Drying Preferred: Line dry or lay the kids wear flat to dry. This is the best way to maintain the shape and quality of bamboo viscose. Hanging wet clothes can cause them to stretch out of shape. If you must use a dryer, choose a low-heat setting. High heat can damage the fabric, making it less soft and potentially shortening its lifespan.
- Avoid Over-Drying: Remove the clothes from the dryer or line as soon as they are dry. Over-drying can make bamboo viscose fabric feel stiff and less comfortable to wear.
Stain Removal
- Immediate Treatment: Treat stains on bamboo viscose kids wear as soon as possible. Blot the stain gently with a clean cloth to remove any excess liquid. For most stains, a mixture of mild soap and water can be used. Gently dab the stained area but avoid rubbing too hard, as this can damage the fibers and make the stain spread.
- Stubborn Stains: For stubborn stains like food or dirt stains, you can pre-soak the garment in a solution of mild detergent and water for a short period (usually not more than 30 minutes). Then, wash as usual.
Storage Tips
- Cool and Dry Place: Store bamboo viscose kids wear in a cool, dry place. Moisture can cause mildew and odours, which are difficult to remove from the fabric. Avoid storing clothes in plastic bags for long periods, as they can trap moisture. Instead, use breathable fabric bags or boxes.
- Folding Fold the Clothes: Neatly instead of hanging them for extended periods. Although bamboo viscose is relatively durable, hanging for a long time can cause the clothes to stretch, especially around the shoulders and sleeves. If you do need to hang them, use padded hangers to reduce stress on the fabric.
